This project included the design and construction of a new two-story 25,500 square foot hotel, targeting long-stay guests for the numerous nearby industries situated in Westlake, LA. The hotel includes a mixture of rustic design with hints of Southwest Louisiana flair. Mimicking the railings of the nearby Calcasieu River Bridge, the second-floor guardrail design uses decorative cast iron pistols, paying homage to the local legends of Jean Lafitte. The warm colors of the porcelain tiled flooring and wood cabinetry is contrasted with the bright colors of the walls, giving guests a modern, yet welcoming stay. The guest rooms include the same rustic, yet modern, character found in the rest of the hotel. The rooms on the upper floor are all suite-type accommodations with kitchenettes.
The hotel includes a drive-through front canopy, a two-story lobby space, business desks, front lounging area, and a large multipurpose room. With a dividing curtain, the room can be used for breakfast dining in the morning and two separate meeting rooms throughout the day.
