This project includes the design and construction of a new 100,000+ square foot building that will replace the original school which was destroyed by Hurricane Rita in 2005. The new structure is completely raised above the flood elevation and is designed for the high wind loads and storm surge loads that are along the Gulf Coast portion of Cameron Parish. The building is designed to house all of the grade levels from Pre-K through 12th grade. The school contains standard classrooms for all grade levels along with a cafeteria/auditorium, kitchen facility designed to serve 800 students, library, media center, specialized lab/lecture facilities, special education rooms, separate corridors for the different age groups, and an administrative suite.

The building features concrete, steel, and masonry construction. The building also includes a one million watt emergency standby generator that is fueled by both diesel and natural gas.  Additional projects at the South Cameron campus include a free standing Vocational Agricultural shop and classroom building, two playgrounds, an elevated greenhouse, track and field events facilities at Tarpon Stadium and a new Field House.
